As C. Leigh Purtill, I published two YA novels with Penguin's Razorbill imprint.
LOVE, MEG was released in 2007 and ALL ABOUT VEE  in 2008. Those contemporary coming-of-age novels are available as ebooks under the titles JENNIFER ANISTON IS MY BEST FRIEND and FAT GIRLS IN LA, respectively, for your Kindle and Nook.
As Cat Jordan, I published two YA novels with HarperCollins' HarperTeen imprint. THE LEAVING SEASON, a contemporary romance, was released in 2016, in English and, in German, as DER SOMMER DER UNS TRENNTE.  In 2017 my coming-of-age romance EIGHT DAYS ON PLANET EARTH, about a teen who falls in love with a young woman who claims to be an alien, came out in English; in 2018 as DUNYA UZERINDE SEKIZ GUN in Turkish; in 2019 as NICHTS ALS LIEBE IM UNIVERSUM in German. They are also available as e-books.

Movement

With over twenty years experience as a ballet instructor for adults, I am a champion of ballet being an accessible art form for every person and every body. I teach all levels of dancers, from the super newbie to the experienced professional. I want all my students to love dance and I am dedicated to helping them achieve their goals.

Classes

The Leigh Purtill Ballet Company is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit amateur adult ballet company based in Los Angeles. It was formed in 2017 with the mission of "Ballet for Everyone" but its heart began beating as the fondly-named "zombie ballet" in 2009 which was based on a novel I wrote. The purpose of the company is to bring ballet to people who would never consider attending a performance or taking a class. I want all audience members to see themselves represented on the stage and realize ballet is accessible to them too.

Fun facts

Did you know my choreography was seen by millions of people in the summer of 2017? That's the year Zombie Ballet won The Gong Show! We were as shocked as you are! But I have the Golden Gong trophy to prove it.

In the late 90s, I was a script supervisor in film and television and got to work with Vin Diesel on his first feature film that he directed as well as on many, many commercials for MTV. Dropping names: Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, Jeaneane Garafalo, Alanis Morrisette and...Madonna.

When I moved to LA, I became a broadcast standards editor at The WB (later The CW) and worked on The Gilmore Girls for its entire run as well as 7th Heaven and Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
